Crown Gall (PPFS-GEN-01)

Beginning in autumn and extending through winter, the loss of foliage on deciduous woody plants makes it easier to identify the presence of crown gall. This disease can affect a wide range of crops, including woody ornamentals, tree fruits, and small fruits.  Plants in commercial and residential plantings can suffer losses from this bacterial disease.

This publication provides information on crown gall and its effect on susceptible crops.  Tables contain listings of tolerant hosts, as well as those know to be susceptible.  Symptoms, cause, disease development, and management options are discussed.  Additional management tactics specific for vineyards are also included.

Crown Gall (PPFS-GEN-01) is available online.
