Peach fruit diseases can cause significant losses in yield and quality in commercial and home orchards. Often these diseases go unnoticed until late in the season or at harvest. Although there are no curative treatments for infected fruit, many diseases can be prevented with cultural practices and (optional) fungicides. Accurate diagnosis, however, is critical to determine the best management practices and to prevent future losses.
Peach Fruit Diseases is a newly revised publication intended to aid in the identification of common peach fruit diseases occurring in Kentucky. Symptom descriptions and color images, as well as causes, are included. Resources at the end of the publication point readers to more detailed information on fruit diseases and their management.
Peach Fruit Diseases (PPFS-FR-T-09) is available online.
