Tree Wounds—Invitations to Wood Decay Fungi (PPFS-OR-W-01)

Wood decay leads to loss of tree vigor and vitality, resulting in decline, dieback, and structural failure.  Wounds play an important part in this process since they are the primary points of entry for decay pathogens.

A newly revised UK publication, Tree Wounds—Invitations to Wood Decay Fungi, provides information on wounds and their relationship to wood decay diseases.

Fig 1 featured pub PPFS-OR-W-1Topics include: potential causes of wounds, wound prevention, indications of wood decay, and wound treatment recommendations.  More extensive information can be found in the resources provided at the end of the publication.

Tree Wounds—Invitations to Wood Decay Fungi (PPFS-OR-W-01) is available online.
