Watch for Cutworm Problems in Tobacco

Black cutworm infestations can be very damaging in tobacco fields.  If they are present, injury usually appears during the 10 to 14 days after tobacco is set. Often, it is limited to or worse in low-lying areas with heavier soils.

Broadcast rescue insecticide applications of insecticides (such as Belt, Besiege, Brigade, Brigadier, Endigo ZC, Orthene 97, or Warrior 1 CS) can be used if damage is significant (3 or more cut plants per 100.)
